The short answer
Maxwell Rich Certification is an independent skills certification body, founded by Trenton Rich, that certifies people by in-person exam instead of by courses. It's in beta and hasn't certified anyone yet, so judge it by its design.
We check whether you can do the work, not how long you sat in a classroom. Here's how an exam works.
You choose a field and receive a topic outline ahead of time. You prepare however suits you, because we don't sell courses. Then you sit the exam in person, one on one with a senior professional who still works in your field. It starts with a structured conversation about real situations, then moves to a live demonstration: doing real tasks while the examiner watches. There's no multiple choice, and no two exams are the same.
The result is pass or "not yet," with a written report either way. If you pass, you're Maxwell Rich Certified and get a registry ID that an employer can check online in seconds.
Several rules keep it honest. We only test, so we have no reason to pass anyone. Examiners are paid the same fee whether you pass or fail. Every session is recorded, and if you think a result was wrong, a different senior examiner reviews the recording.
Most examinations cost between $1,000 and $3,000, depending on the field, region, and sitting. Your exact fee is quoted in writing before you register.
A Maxwell Rich credential shows that you did the work in front of someone who does it for a living. It's an independent professional credential, not a degree, a government license or a board license, and it doesn't by itself authorize practice in a regulated profession.
The name isn't connected to John C. Maxwell or his leadership programs.
It's new, it's small, and it hasn't earned a track record yet. We're building our examiner network field by field and region by region, and fees and exam dates are set as examiner panels form.
Separate the one who teaches from the one who tests, pay the examiner the same whether you pass or fail, record everything and allow appeals, let anyone check the result, and make it update every time it runs.
Good proof of skill is real work, done under real conditions, watched and recorded, judged by people who do the job, and checkable by anyone afterward.
Nobody has to tear the old gate down. Build a second way in beside it, based on proof of skill, and let people walk through.
